The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
Przewalski’s horse, known in Mongolia as the takhi, is a wild horse with a stocky body, a large head and a short, upright mane without a forelock. It has a pale muzzle, a dark stripe along the back and long tail hair concentrated towards the lower end.
It disappeared from the wild in the twentieth century. Conservation breeding and reintroduction restored free-ranging herds in Mongolia and China. Przewalski’s horses have 66 chromosomes, compared with 64 in domestic horses, but the two can still produce fertile offspring.
