Unaysaurus — size comparison — facts and sources

Unaysaurus lived in the Late Triassic in present-day southern Brazil. It belonged to the early sauropodomorphs and probably used chiefly plant food. The Caturrita Formation’s landscape also supported other early dinosaurs and many animals outside that group.

Fossils were found in 1998 and the species described in 2004. Its name commemorates a local word for water and its discoverer, Tolentino Marafiga.
