Scelidosaurus — size comparison — facts and sources

Scelidosaurus was a quadrupedal herbivore of Early Jurassic Britain. Rows of bony armour ran along its body. Remains were preserved in marine sediments after this terrestrial animal’s body was transported there after death.

Specimens near Charmouth have been studied since the nineteenth century. Well-preserved skeletons revealed details of skull, limbs and armour arrangement. It provides an important reference for early armoured-dinosaur evolution.
