Qianzhousaurus — size comparison — facts and sources

Qianzhousaurus was a tyrannosaurid of the latest Cretaceous in present-day China. Its exceptionally long, narrow snout earned the popular nickname Pinocchio. Its jaws held numerous teeth adapted to taking animal food.

The species was described in 2014 after a skeleton was found near Ganzhou. Nanxiong Formation material helped demonstrate that this lineage’s elongated snout was not merely a juvenile tyrannosaurid feature. The Mongolian Alioramus was a close relative.
