Pentaceratops sternbergii was a herbivorous ceratopsid of the Late Cretaceous southwestern United States. It had an enormous frill, two long brow horns, a nasal horn and pointed cheek projections.
It lived on North America's western landmass, separated from the east by a broad sea. Not all large skeletons formerly called Pentaceratops remain assigned to this genus; later research revealed greater diversity among regional horned dinosaurs.
