Nigersaurus — size comparison — facts and sources

Nigersaurus lived in the Early Cretaceous in present-day Niger. This quadrupedal sauropod had an exceptionally broad muzzle with teeth arranged across its front edge. Numerous openings greatly lightened its delicate skull.

Jaw structure indicates low-vegetation feeding. Worn teeth were rapidly replaced by successors within the jaws. Rivers and vegetated landscapes supplied food; microscopic tooth studies reveal replacement rates.
