Lesothosaurus — size comparison — facts and sources
Lesothosaurus was an early ornithischian dinosaur of southern Africa. Plants were the main part of its diet, although its feeding capabilities are reconstructed indirectly from anatomy. It lived in the Early Jurassic, before the expansion of many better-known groups of large herbivores. Find sites include present-day Lesotho and South Africa.
An accumulation of bones from many individuals has provided arguments for possible social living. Such a site nevertheless requires analysis of sediment formation and the accumulation of remains; neighbouring bones alone cannot establish a permanent herd. Bone studies help identify growth stages.
