Kosmoceratops was a herbivorous ceratopsid of Late Cretaceous Utah. Fifteen horns and hornlike projections ornamented its skull above the nose and eyes, on the cheeks and along the frill margin. Brow horns pointed sideways, while some frill projections curled forward.
It inhabited the humid Kaiparowits Formation landscape. Elaborate ornaments may have aided recognition and courtship displays. Described in 2010, it revealed further differences between northern and southern North American dinosaur assemblages.
