Europasaurus — size comparison — facts and sources

Europasaurus was a small sauropod herbivore of the Late Jurassic. It had a long neck, small head and four supporting legs. It inhabited present-day Germany when elevated sea levels divided Europe into many islands.

Bone sections showed that the small skeletons include adults. It is therefore an important example of interpreted island dwarfism: limited island resources may have favoured reduced size. Finds also document different growth stages.
