Dicraeosaurus — size comparison — facts and sources

Dicraeosaurus was a herbivorous sauropod of Late Jurassic Tanzania. Elongated, forked vertebral projections gave the genus its name. It belonged to the Tendaguru fauna, including other large sauropods and carnivorous dinosaurs.

Remains collected during early twentieth-century expeditions established the animal’s identity. Spinal structure became a reference for dicraeosaurid studies, including later South American forms with exceptionally elongated neck projections.
