Deinocheirus — size comparison — facts and sources

Deinocheirus inhabited Late Cretaceous river valleys in present-day Mongolia. A massive ornithomimosaur, it had exceptionally long forelimbs, a broad toothless snout and raised back. One specimen contained fish remains and stomach stones. Anatomy and gut contents indicate a varied diet.

For decades it was known chiefly from enormous clawed arms, leaving its overall appearance mysterious. More complete skeletons described in the twenty-first century revealed its heavy build and feeding specialisations.
