Carcharodontosaurus — size comparison — facts and sources

Carcharodontosaurus was a giant bipedal predator of Cretaceous North Africa. Long, flattened, serrated teeth suited meat cutting. Its ecosystem included large herbivorous dinosaurs and extensive river environments. Hunting and scavenging may both have supplied meat, but their relative importance is unknown.

Its fossil material is incomplete, so comparisons between the largest theropods depend on reconstruction choices. Close relatives also inhabited South America when continental arrangements differed from today.
