Beelzebufo — size comparison — facts and sources

Beelzebufo was an extinct frog from the Late Cretaceous of Madagascar. Finds come from the Maevarano Formation, documenting terrestrial ecosystems with seasonally changing water availability. It probably ate animal food, but its prey list is not directly known; sensational scenes of it swallowing young dinosaurs remain hypotheses.

New bones described in 2014 allowed the reconstruction and popular size estimates to be revised. Comparing the extinct frog with modern species requires consideration of different skull proportions and incomplete material. Its relationships and ancient geographical connections remain under study.
