Anchisaurus — size comparison — facts and sources

Anchisaurus was an early sauropodomorph much smaller than later long-necked giants. North American finds reveal a lightly built animal with a small head, elongated neck and tail balancing the forebody.

It ate plants. Forelimb weight-bearing is reconstructed from anatomy; bipedal posture need not have been its only means of movement. Such small forms help explain changes leading to massive, permanently quadrupedal sauropods later in evolution.
