Cavapoo — size comparison — facts and sources

The Cavapoo is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle cross. It most often has drop ears, a soft expression and wavy or curly hair, but appearance is not uniform. Some retain the Cavalier's shorter muzzle and more compact build; others have longer legs and slimmer heads. Poodles of different sizes further widen the size range.

Crossbreeding developed to produce companions. The shared name nevertheless covers different lines and successive generations without one FCI-adopted standard. Individual breeding histories may differ, and the commercial term alone does not say how many generations separate a dog from the parent breeds.

These dogs are often described as affectionate, sociable and eager for human contact. Many enjoy play and shared exploration, but energy and independence vary individually. A calmer appearance does not predict responses to separation, noise or strangers. Learning tendencies and emotional expression may also vary within one litter.
