Transylvanian — size comparison — facts and sources

The Transylvanian cat comes from Romania’s Carpathian region. Its distinctive dark black or blue fur has pale hair tips, creating a frosted effect especially visible on the head and more projecting body parts.

Breeding is developing from local cats with this unusual coat trait. It is a young, small population with a much shorter history than that of cats living in the region itself. Available accounts focus chiefly on colour and build; they do not yet provide a strong basis for describing a distinct, established breed temperament.
