The New Zealand Tiffany has the muscular body and head shape of the Burmese type, but fine, silky, semi-long hair. Its longer coat adds tail volume while leaving the body’s proportions visible.

It descends from Burmese and Mandalay cats and may be crossed with both within the NZCF programme. The organisation registers it as Tiffany, or Burmese Longhair. The similar name Tiffanie refers in British breeding to a longhaired Asian-group cat. The distinction reflects two separate breeding programmes, although both are associated with Burmese-type cats.
