Suffolk — size comparison — facts and sources

The Suffolk has a graceful, muscular body, moderately elongated head and large green eyes. Its short coat is smooth, glossy and solid-coloured. GCCF currently permits chocolate, lilac, cinnamon and fawn.

British breeders developed it to preserve the traditional type of earlier Havana cats before their outline became more extremely oriental. The Suffolk gained GCCF registration in 2014 and championship status in 2018. Cinnamon and fawn joined the recognised colours in 2026.

It is usually outgoing, curious and strongly oriented towards contact. It readily joins household activities, often combining interest in people with talkativeness and enthusiasm for shared play.
