Singapura — size comparison — facts and sources
The Singapura is a very small but muscular cat with large eyes and broad ears. Its short, silky coat has characteristic sepia agouti colouring. Hairs carry alternating pale and dark bands, with stronger markings on the face, back and tail tip. The outline is light and athletic.
Its name comes from the Malay name for Singapore. Modern breeding also developed in the United States. In Singapore it has been promoted as Kucinta, translated as love cat, linking the breed to the city’s image.
It is generally energetic, intensely curious and strongly interested in people. It enjoys climbing high, checking small objects and following household events. It may initiate games and often seeks warmth and closeness to its owner at rest.
