Pixiebob Longhair — size comparison — facts and sources
The longhaired Pixiebob has substantial bone, a strong body and a head shaped like an inverted pear. Its shaggy coat retains a spotted pattern, while longer hair partly conceals the short tail. Some cats have extra toes, permitted by the standard.
The breed was developed in the United States by establishing a bobcat-like appearance in domestic cats. Wild ancestry has not been confirmed. TICA maintains shorthaired and longhaired varieties within the same breed.
It is usually calm in interaction and attached to household members. It readily watches their activities, follows a chosen person and joins in play. It can retrieve and learn simple tasks.
