Minuet Longhair — size comparison

The longhaired Minuet has a rounded head, strong body and abundant Persian-type coat. In the short-legged variety the body sits low, with fluffy hair further emphasising its stocky outline. Litters also contain cats with ordinary limb length.

The breed developed from Munchkins and Persian-group cats. Initially called Napoleon, it later took the name Minuet. Short legs result from a mutation affecting the long bones, changing movement and the ability to reach elevated places.

Breed accounts generally describe a gentle, sociable disposition. The Minuet takes an interest in people, investigates new objects and readily tracks a toy moving within reach of its paws.
