Minskin — size comparison — facts and sources
The Minskin is a small cat with shortened legs, very fine body fuzz and more evident hair on selected areas, called fur-points. Its name combines references to small size and skin.
The programme began in Boston in 1998, using Munchkin, Sphynx, Burmese and Devon Rex lines. TICA maintains the Minskin for registration only, without championship status.
Shortened limbs affect movement, while reduced hair provides less skin protection and thermal insulation. These functional consequences are important programme characteristics. The small population offers little firm basis for distinguishing a uniform temperament of its own.
