Mekong Bobtail — size comparison — facts and sources

The Mekong Bobtail has a strong, medium-sized body, slightly raised rump and short, bent tail. Darker points complement its pale coat, and the eyes are blue. The tail remains mobile, although its shape varies between cats.

Breeding arose from an Asian type of short-tailed, Siamese-coloured cat. WCF recognised the breed in 2004 as Mekong Bobtail, replacing the former name Thai Bobtail. Its name refers to the great Southeast Asian river.

It is usually curious, sociable and interested in shared activities. It readily follows people and plays with moving objects, often maintaining contact through its voice.
