Konja (Korn Ja) — size comparison — facts and sources

The Konja, also called Korn Ja, is a native Thai black-coated cat type. Old accounts compare its sheen to raven feathers and its eyes to lotus flowers. Such comparisons belong to traditional manuscripts linking appearance with symbolic meaning.

The Konja appears in the Tamra Maew tradition. Modern Thai breeding programmes seek to preserve this local type and its distinct identity. The population remains small, and documentation chiefly concerns origins and pigmentation. Equally detailed evidence for a distinct, consistent temperament is lacking.
