Kanaani — size comparison — facts and sources

The Kanaani has a slender, capable body, large ears and green eyes. Spots or marbled bands mark the warm background of its short coat, partly softened by ticking. This combines a clear pattern with delicate, multi-toned hair colour.

Its breeding history includes crosses with the African wildcat, a wild relative of the domestic cat. The modern programme is closed to such contributions: since 2008 WCF rules have required mating only Kanaani cats with one another.

The Kanaani is usually described as active and independent. It climbs proficiently, watches its surroundings attentively and responds keenly to objects resembling moving prey.
