Havana — size comparison — facts and sources

The Havana has a medium-sized, muscular body and a distinctive blunt-ended muzzle. Its short coat is smooth and glossy, usually mahogany brown; TICA also accepts lilac. Whiskers match the coat, and green eyes intensify as the cat matures.

The breed developed from lines bred in Britain and later North America. The American Havana retained a distinctive head shape, while British brown cats also developed along a more slender Oriental type. The name has been linked to the brown of a cigar or the Havana rabbit.

It is generally curious, affectionate and attentive to people. It readily investigates objects with a paw, initiates contact and joins household activities. It can quickly remember simple actions and the rules of shared games.
