Devon Rex Longhair — size comparison — facts and sources

The Devon Rex Longhair has a slender, muscular body, short muzzle, prominent cheekbones and enormous, low-set ears. Soft, wavy hair is medium-length, forming ear feathering, breeches and a bushy, wavy tail.

NZCF recognised the variety in 2021, having previously registered longhaired cats within the Devon Rex breeding pool. The breed’s founder, Kirlee, carried long hair, and later outcrosses preserved this recessive trait in some lines. The longhaired variety therefore develops a variant present in the breed’s history while retaining its characteristic head and build.
