Cornish Rex — size comparison — facts and sources
The Cornish Rex has a slender, muscular body, long legs and large ears set high on a narrow head. Its very soft, short coat forms regular waves. The delicate covering reveals the muscles, deep chest and tucked-up belly. It is quick, agile and well coordinated.
The breed began with Kallibunker, a kitten born in Cornwall in 1950. His unusual coat resulted from a natural mutation preserved through further breeding. Despite similar wavy coats, Cornish and Devon Rexes owe them to different genetic changes.
Cornish Rexes commonly retain a strong appetite for play into adulthood. They climb, retrieve toys and react quickly to movement. Many stay closely involved with people and their activities. At rest, they seek warmth and often curl up against a person.
