Chinchilla Longhair — size comparison — facts and sources

The Chinchilla Longhair has long hair with snowy white underfur and delicately darkened tips. Light black tipping creates a silvery effect. Dark outlines emphasise green eyes and a brick-red nose, contrasting with the pale head.

The Southern Africa Cat Council retains a separate breeding identity for these cats. Most major federations, including CFA, FIFe and TICA, include chinchilla colour within the Persian breed. Chinchilla refers to hair pigmentation and its silvery appearance, rather than a relationship with the rodent of that name.
