Brazilian Shorthair — size comparison — facts and sources

The Brazilian Shorthair is a medium-sized, muscular cat with a fairly slender outline. It has large eyes, high-set ears and short, shiny hair without abundant undercoat. Breeding includes a wide range of colours and patterns.

The breed developed from local domestic cats living in Brazilian cities. Selection aimed to preserve a recognisable local type rather than create a new cross between several breeds. WCF also admits assessed, non-pedigree cats originating from Brazil into the programme.

It is usually capable, curious and sociable. It takes interest in changes nearby, readily follows a toy and joins human activities.
