Asian Shorthair — size comparison — facts and sources

The Asian Shorthair has a muscular body and a head shape resembling the European Burmese. Its short, close coat comes in many colours and patterns, including solid, smoke, tabby and tortoiseshell.

The group developed in Britain following the Burmilla breeding programme. Burmese crossed with chinchilla Persians produced offspring in a wider colour range. Within this family, Burmilla denotes silver shaded cats, while other varieties received their own group names.

It is usually sociable, curious and playful. It readily stays near people, vocalises to them and joins daily activities.
