Arabian Mau — size comparison — facts and sources
The Arabian Mau has long legs, a strong body and large ears. Short hair without abundant undercoat clearly reveals its muscles. Several colours and patterns occur, including white, black, red and tabby.
It descends from natural cat populations of the Arabian Peninsula living near human settlements. Pedigree breeding selected a local type while preserving its light coat and capable build.
It is usually alert, active and interested in exploration. It readily climbs, follows moving objects and engages in hunting games. It can be sociable with familiar people while retaining considerable independence.
