Aphrodite’s Giant — size comparison — facts and sources

The Aphrodite’s Giant is a large, strongly built cat from Cyprus. Shorthaired and longhaired forms occur; the latter has a full tail and more abundant neck hair. Its build remains capable and muscular.

Breeding developed from the local natural population of Cypriot cats. WCF includes both coat lengths within one breed. Its name refers to Aphrodite, closely associated with the island’s cultural tradition. Standard documentation chiefly describes build and coat; reliable evidence about behaviour across the whole population is much scarcer.
