American Curl Longhair — size comparison — facts and sources
The longhaired American Curl has a balanced, muscular body and silky, semi-long hair with little undercoat. Its tail forms a distinct plume. Backward-curving ears are its most recognisable feature; kittens are born with straight ears, whose shape begins changing after a few days.
Both coat lengths developed within the same American breed, founded on a natural ear-shape mutation. Longer hair softens the outline without changing the Curl’s basic build.
It is usually curious, sociable and playful even in adulthood. It readily joins household activities, approaches new objects to investigate and initiates contact with its person.
