The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The yellow-tailed black cockatoo uses eucalyptus forests, pine plantations and other wooded habitats in southeastern Australia. Its powerful bill breaks cones for seeds and opens wood to find larvae.
Family groups travel between feeding grounds. Breeding requires sufficiently large hollows formed in mature trees.
Długość od końca dzioba do końca ogona: 55 cm (dolna granica opublikowanego zakresu, mniejszy przykład dorosłego ptaka); nie jest to wysokość stojącej papugi ani średnia populacji. Zakres źródłowy: 55–65 cm długości całkowitej. Wysokość tej postawy, około 26,4 cm, wynika z proporcji ilustracji. Przód zachowuje wysokość boku; szerokość i perspektywa pozostają przybliżone. Masa zachowuje zakres źródłowy i nie jest przypisana zilustrowanemu osobnikowi.
