Savi’s warbler — size comparison — facts and sources
Savi’s warbler is a small bird with a plain brown back and paler underparts. In dense reeds it is often easier to hear than to see. The male sings a long, even trill that sounds like a mechanical buzz.
It builds its nest low among stems in the reedbed and feeds mainly on insects. The species breeds in Poland and leaves for its African wintering grounds in late summer and autumn.
