The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The palm cockatoo has dark plumage, a tall crest, powerful bill and bare red cheeks. It inhabits New Guinea and northern Australian forests and wooded savannas, eating seeds, nuts and fruit.
Males may prepare sticks and rhythmically strike trees near hollows, using tools for display sounds. Usually alone or paired, they need large old-tree chambers for breeding.
Długość od końca dzioba do końca ogona: 49 cm (dolna granica opublikowanego zakresu, mniejszy przykład dorosłego ptaka); nie jest to wysokość stojącej papugi ani średnia populacji. Zakres źródłowy: 49–68 cm długości całkowitej. Wysokość tej postawy, około 23,5 cm, wynika z proporcji ilustracji. Przód zachowuje wysokość boku; szerokość i perspektywa pozostają przybliżone. Masa zachowuje zakres źródłowy i nie jest przypisana zilustrowanemu osobnikowi.
