Keel-billed toucan — size comparison — facts and sources
The keel-billed toucan has black plumage, a yellow throat and chest, and a striking bill patterned in green, orange and blue. The bill is light and porous inside, so its size does not imply the weight of a solid bone.
It lives in humid tropical forests and forest edges in Central America. Fruit is its main food, supplemented by insects, eggs and small vertebrates. Toucans often move in small groups and use tree cavities both for roosting and breeding.
