Carrion crow — size comparison — facts and sources

The carrion crow uses farmland as well as parks and built-up areas. It is omnivorous, gathering available food on the ground and sometimes storing part of its finds for later.

It forms lasting pairs. Both partners build the nest; the female incubates, while the male brings her food and helps defend the territory. Both parents feed the chicks. In some populations, older offspring have also been observed helping to rear later young, but this is not equally frequent throughout the range.

The carrion crow interbreeds with the hooded crow in areas of contact.
