The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The common raven occurs in many Northern Hemisphere landscapes, from forests and mountains to coasts, tundra and deserts. It also uses rural areas and other human-altered places.
It eats carrion, small animals, eggs, invertebrates, fruit and seeds. It is a resourceful forager, able to use new sources and store surpluses. Many individuals may gather at an abundant resource such as a large carcass.
It nests on a rock, tree or artificial structure. Partners often stay together year-round, while younger birds may form loose groups. Ravens perform aerial acrobatics, and curiosity and object play are particularly visible in individuals exploring their surroundings.
