The leaf scorpionfish inhabits Indo-Pacific reefs. Its extremely thin compressed body resembles a fallen leaf. Tall dorsal membranes, broad pectorals and skin projections blur its outline. Individuals may be yellow, red or brown among other colours.

A concealed bottom predator, it catches small fish and crustaceans within reach. Irregular shape and colour conceal it among rocks and reef features.
