The harlequin rasbora has a copper-pink body with a large black patch narrowing towards the tail. Other Trigonostigma species have similar patterns, but shape and proportions help distinguish them.
It lives in groups in forest streams and peatland waters of the Malay Peninsula, Singapore and Indonesia. It eats small crustaceans, insects and other invertebrates among plants and in the water.
During spawning, eggs adhere to the undersides of broad leaves. Fish turn beneath the chosen surface, leaving eggs sheltered by the leaf above. This distinguishes it from many small fish that scatter eggs freely.
Długość całkowita (TL): od końca pyska do końca płetwy ogonowej. Przykład, nie średnia populacji. Widok przedni ma przybliżone proporcje.
