Elongatus Ornatus is a formally undescribed elongatus-group cichlid labelled Chindongo sp. Elongatus Ornatus. It occurs around Likoma Island and Ndumbi Rocks in Lake Malawi. Adult males are blue with transverse bars.

It occupies low-sediment rocks, selecting algae, diatoms and small organisms from growth. Spawning intensifies territorial defence. Females mouthbrood developing offspring.
