American Bully XL — size comparison — facts and sources
The American Bully XL is a taller variety with a developed chest, broad head and strong muscles. Short, smooth hair covers a substantial body on powerful legs. Adult height chiefly determines XL status, rather than weight alone. It retains the proportions and general type of the same breed as Standard and Pocket.
The American Bully developed in the United States from bull-type dogs, including American Pit Bull Terriers and bulldogs. Selection established a stocky build and companion role. The United Kennel Club recognised it in 2013. XL breeding follows the same standard with a separate adult-height range.
Standards describe the desired Bully as confident, sociable and strongly interested in family. Emotional expression can be intense: a large dog may initiate play as energetically as smaller relatives. It often seeks physical closeness and remains engaged in favourite activities for a long time. It may be more reserved towards other dogs.
