American Bully Standard — size comparison — facts and sources
The American Bully Standard is a stocky, heavily muscled dog with a broad head and deep chest. Short, smooth hair clearly reveals its build. It is more substantial than the Classic, although both share a height category. Standard lies between the shorter Pocket and taller XL; these names identify varieties of one breed.
The American Bully developed in the United States from bull-type dogs. The American Pit Bull Terrier contributed importantly, with bulldogs also influencing build. Selection favoured a companion with a noticeably stronger body. The modern Bully has its own standard distinguishing it from contributing breeds.
The desired temperament combines confidence with friendly human interest. Many eagerly initiate games and engage with their whole bodies, making enthusiasm intense. They may be less relaxed around unfamiliar dogs than people, with clear differences between breeding lines.
