Akbash Dog — size comparison — facts and sources

The Akbash is a white Turkish livestock guardian with long legs, a wedge-shaped head and a relatively lean build. A strong chest combines with a tucked abdomen. Medium and long coats both have an undercoat.

It comes from western Turkey, where it protected sheep against predators. Its traditional role is to watch over livestock rather than drive them. UKC recognises the Akbash separately from the Kangal and Anatolian Shepherd. White colour and a lighter outline are characteristic, but do not replace documented ancestry.
